They argue that technology and social media give you an exaggerated sense of self. But, in reality, most people don’t think they’re all that amazing. Even the most selfish people you know would have undoubtedly met never-ending waves of insecurity. Yes, everyone can fall victim to an underlying feeling that dominates their self-image and determines their behavior. 

It’s a given that some people appear to be excellent at masking their feelings or fears. These folks are so amazing at playing things down that you’d think their confidence was limitless. While others stumble to find their footing and fall into a bottomless black pit.

When the truth is insecurity jeopardizes everyone’s most exemplary efforts. You are not alone in this struggle. Is there hope? It is possible to overcome emotions of insecurity, and your journey starts here.

Assessing Yourself

Among the first and most effective steps to overcome insecurities is when you build up your self-esteem. How do you do that? Analyze your situation. As yourself, questions like:

  • You have a poor self-image.
  • You’re in the company of people who frequently belittle and demean others. 
  • You fear failure.
  • You’re a perfectionist.

Reflect through the list and evaluate if it’s the life you’re living. If it is, then maybe it’s time for you to make necessary changes like being more mindful of your environment and company. If you can leave and create a new life with a better perspective, you’ll find that sooner or slowly, your insecurities will fade away.

Your comfort zone isn’t a good place for you to grow.

You may be constrained and prevented from expanding outside of your comfort zone, especially when you remain in the exact safe location for an extended period while becoming excessively comfortable. It’s a scenario that offers no room for any progress. You are stuck and stagnant. 

You might not know it, but your comfort zone might ruin your life because you don’t desire to live your life to the maximum. You don’t want to become the best version of yourself. 

Staying in a familiar place that limits your growth makes you bored and lazy, and your potential could be wasted. Leave the excessive yet unbalanced convenience and chase growth. Some messy, strenuous, harsh, and chaotic routines have to end.

Take baby steps and see that you’ll be free from insecurities because you see and appreciate your potential. You can get so much more in life if you’re brave enough to take the leap of faith. 

All that baggage needs to go, and learn to forgive.

Letting go of whatever emotional baggage they may be holding is another excellent technique for coping with insecurity while attempting to feel less uncertain about a relationship or oneself. Here, it’s essential to remember that everything has already happened, and we must move on promptly.
